Tattoo Removal

Hello, my name is Lajuan, I'm a medical assistant here at Jazzi cosmetic surgery & aesthetic medicine. And today I want to share the experience I had with the Rohrer Aesthetics (Q-switched Yag/KTP Tattoo Removal). The dual wavelengths (1064nm/532nm) for removal of a wide variety of tattoo pigments.
Now normally before we do this procedure we would have applied either BLT cream or Local Anesthesia. If you don?t know what BLT Cream is, it?s Benzocaine (20%), Lidocaine (10%), and Tetracaine (10%) that?s is a numbing agent made in a factory down in Texas. And as soon as you apply it, it works almost instantaneously. But we ask the patient to wait for at least 45 mins. though.
I used the Local anesthesia which was at first 1% Lidocaine (300mg/30ml) which works better than the topical cream we use. My first time getting tattoo removal I didn?t have high expectations as far as results seeing how it was going to be my first treatment. Oh, how wrong I was, during the process of me getting both my hands zapped I could slightly feel the machine and if I had to describe how it felt like my kind of getting my hands redone which wasn?t that bad honestly. But after an hour went by I noticed my hands were super puffy and I wasn?t able to use them for the rest of the day so I walked around the practice like a T-Rex just roaring.
Now the second time I got the Tattoo Removal done we used 2% Lidocaine HCI & Epinephrine (1:200,000)  and As it was getting injected into my hands I instantly knew that this was a lot trimmer than my first treatment. It made my hand no scratch that my whole forearm from my elbow to my fingertips numb and I was like this is awesome. So as we proceed to do the treatment Lacey (Nurse Practitioner?) asked me ?how I felt?? and I was ?like I don?t feel anything? like it was great and again my hands swelled yet again but this time I couldn?t feel half my arms plus at the time it was cold in the office so that made the process a little hard on me but overall it was a good experience. I can proudly say after just two treatments almost all my Black ink is completely gone from my right hand and we have to play catch up on my left hand but truth be told my left hand will be gone before my right-hand tattoo because my right-hand tattoo has color in it and it takes longer to remove it, unlike a solid black tattoo.
After getting this procedure done I can proudly say that the only con I had was that my hands swelling, but swelling and scaring is normal also the 6-week wait is a bummer too. But other than that I really have no complaints about Tattoo Removal.
