Sunshine & Summertime !

Summer is here & we couldn’t be happier! However, we have to remember to protect ourselves from the harmful effects of the sun!

Too much of a good thing …. Is a bad thing!

Damaging effects of the sun:

-Sunburn …… Who has time for that!?

-Obviously sunburns are a potential risk from too much sun exposure. Not only are sunburns painful, they are unsightly and increase our risks for skin cancers.

-Aging …….. Sun spots & wrinkles? No thanks!

-Excessive sun exposure can greatly affect the age of our skin. The sun may cause up to 80- 90 % of visible signs of aging on our skin. By limiting sun exposure & practicing “safe” sun time (wearing your sunscreen), your skin can remain younger than your age!

-Skin Cancer……  90% of skin cancers are caused by sun exposure!

-No one plans for cancer. If there was a way to prevent cancer wouldn’t you do it? Guess what…. you can! Limiting sun exposure and wearing sunscreen can greatly decrease your risk of skin cancers.

-Dehydration…… H2O is our bodies friend!

-Dehydration can easily occur from too much sun and heat exposure. When our bodies get dehydrated we become tired, sluggish, and can even suffer poor health effects. In addition our skin ages more quickly and appears dull. Drinking plenty of water and limiting sun and heat exposure helps our body stay healthy through-out the summer months.
