What is the recovery time for a facelift?

Facelift recovery time can vary between 1 and 3 weeks.

Recovery time can be broken down into 3 phases:

  1. Phase 1
  2. Phase 2
  3. Phase 3

Phase 1: This phase is taking it easy and resting to allow your body to heal. This phase can be as short as 4 days for active patients and as long as 1 week for patient that are less active.  Phase 1 is from Day 1 after surgery until day 7 after surgery.

Phase 2: This phase starts when you are able to become more active, but you will have some residual swelling that will quickly resolve. The phase ends when 90% of your swelling goes down. This phase take approximately 7 days. Phase 2 is from day 8 after surgery until day 14 after surgery.

Phase 3: This phase is when your healing and results lock in. During this time the remainder of the swelling resolves and your results will show the most. Although your results will improve with the tiny amount of residual swelling going down over the next month. This fast starts from day 14 after surgery and ends on day 28 after surgery.
