What is Kybella made up of?

Kybella is made up of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

Who should not receive Kybella?

You should not receive Kybella if you have an infection in the treatment area.

How is Kybella administered?

  • Multiple small injections depending on the amount of fat you have under your chin & your desired profile.

  • Number of treatments vary patient to patient

How often can I receive Kybella?

Each treatment session is given at least 1 month apart and you cannot receive more than 6 treatments.

  • Up to 50 injections or 10 ML may be injected per treatment

What can I expect after my treatment of Kybella?

  • Redness, swelling, firmness/hardness and bruising are common

  • Sensation of burning/stinging usually resolves in first day

  • No use of steroids or other anti-inflammatory inflammatories 

  • Avoid exercise for 48 hours

  • Avoid salty foods for 48 hours

  • May sleep with head propped up to aid reduction of welling

  • Ice the area only 2-5 minutes at a time
