TCA Peels Q & A

What does a Peel do?

Improves appearance & texture of skin, fine lines & wrinkles, acne scars, superficial blemishes, and evens skin tone

What is the difference in a TCA Peel vs. a Dermalogica Peel?

TCA removes the top layers of skin while Dermalogica Peels can target certain concerns of the skin.

How does a Chemical Peel Work?

  • Induces peeling of the top layer of the skin

  • Skin will flake/peel in 2-3 days

What to do before your Chemical Peel?

  • Do not use irritants or exfoliants for 48 hours

  • Use SPF

How often can I get a TCA Chemical Peel?

Can retreat every 2 weeks depending on the concentration of TCA

Is there anything I can expect after a TCA Chemical Peel?

  • Frosting of scar surface can last up to 12 hours

  • Skin surrounding treated areas will be red & sore for 24 to 48 hours

  • Scabbing may develop after 2-3 days & fall off after 3-7 days

  • You can wash skin as normal, and may apply makeup

  • Use sunscreen

  • Most patients require 3-6 treatments for optimal improvement

  • Can be repeated every 2-8 weeks depending on the patient’s skin reaction

What is a Dermalogica Pro Power Peel?

A Dermalogica Pro Power Peel offers a less invasive peel for patients that do not have the down time for a TCA Peel, as frosting is not achieved and major peeling does not occur. Dermalogica Peels can be customized for specific skin concerns. While these are not medical grade, they are still professional peels that patients cannot access without an appointment with a professional.

What Dermalogica Peels does Jazzi Cosmetic offer?

  • Power Clear: Mandelic and Salicylic Acid peel used to treat blemished and acne prone skin.

  • Power Bright: 30% Lactic Acid peel used to correct hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

  • Advanced Renewal: Glycolic Acid Peel used to fight the signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and tone, and improve general skin radiance.

  • Age Reversal: 15% TCA Peel

Is there any downtime for a Dermalogica Peel?

There is no downtime for a Dermalogica Peel. You can resume normal skincare and activities, we suggest just applying sunscreen.
